Currently, we have had the great fortune to partner on an ambitious residential project in Santa Barbara Foothills with Ted Flato of Lake | Flato (Design Architect), who was recently the recipient of an AIA Gold Medal. They are a Texas-based architectural firm renowned for their innovative yet familiar design approach. This strategic partnership is a prime example of our commitment to pushing the boundaries and furthering the collective practices of architecture and interior design. United by a close connection to our client, this partnership was fueled by a shared vision of site specificity, innovation, and integrating the client's lifestyle into the architectural fabric. We are thrilled to be a part of this collective effort as the project’s Architect of Record.
A key aspect of our collaborative effort was integrating our client’s lifestyle, art collection, and design aesthetics. The project became a canvas where personal stories and tastes were embedded into the architectural narrative. Beginning with a stunning site imbued with historical significance and 360-degree views of the Santa Barbara mountains and coastline. We were presented with the unique challenge of ensuring that the architecture respected the beauty and history of the site. This project is a testament to the incredible feats that can be achieved when creative minds come together with a shared vision.
