Gibraltar Residence Update
About a year ago, work on this architectural masterpiece began, and with it the laborious task of transferring tons of earth over the site. This first stage was essential for setting the groundwork for the subterranean level of the main home, the guest house, and the tranquil yoga pavilion—all of which were crafted to blend in with the site's organic features.
Notable progress has been made in the main house's basement level. The final walls feature a board-formed concrete surface that gives the building a more organic, textural feel. In addition to guaranteeing longevity, this technique gives the walls a creative touch that echoes the untamed grandeur of Santa Barbara's hills. Within, the finished interior wall barriers divide the room into discrete zones intended for comfort and luxury. Now that radiant floor heating and cooling systems have been installed, this comfort is increased and a comfortable interior climate is guaranteed all year round.
Outstanding progress is also being made on the guest house, which is a crucial component of this project. Built with the same board-formed concrete as the basement, the main structural wall is sturdy and towering. The light steel structure that just topped this wall is evidence of the project's dedication to balancing strength and visual appeal. Not to be overlooked is the substantial advancement of the yoga pavilion, a sanctuary of peace and relaxation. The slab and retaining wall have been poured, creating the foundation for an area that should be serene and inspirational.
Shortly, the team is preparing for multiple significant achievements. The construction of the pool, which promises to be the focal point of outdoor elegance and recreation, is soon to begin. The foundation for the ground floor of the main house is also scheduled to start, providing the framework for the stunning front and interior rooms of the building. In the guest home, the emphasis will move to the interior wall dividers, which will help to further define the arrangement and purpose of the space. Finally, with the beams topped off, the yoga pavilion will enter a new phase of construction and we will be one step closer to fulfilling this architectural vision.
